Music & Drama Ministries

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Music

The purpose of the Music Ministry is to facilitate the worship and praise of God through song, as well as readying the hearts and minds of the congregation to hear the word of God. This ministry, consisting primarily of adults that sing as a mass choir, meets 3-4 weeks out of the month to rehearse and prepare for Sunday worship as well as outside fellowships. The NCGMC Mass Choir and the Pastoral Choir are the primary sanctuary choirs.
 

Male Chorus

The purpose of the Male Chorus is to allow a willing group of adult men to facilitate the worship and praise of God through song, as well as readying the hearts and minds of the congregation to hear the word of God. This ministry meets 1 week out of the month to rehearse and prepare for Sunday worship as well as outside fellowships. 
 

Women’s Chorus

The purpose of the Women’s Chorus is to annually support the Women’s Unity Activities in a manner similar to the Mass Choir. This ministry meets 1-2 week out of the year, usually right in advance of Women’s Unity Weekend to rehearse and prepare for Sunday worship.  They are on call for requests to support other ministries.

Drama

Purpose:  The purpose of Drama Ministry is to facilitate spiritual growth and outreach by sharing the gospel message through dramatic presentation. Worship drama is an effective tool to introduce and support the message being presented. As the real challenges of life are revealed, needs are exposed, making the message better received. Our objective is not simply to entertain, but to point people to the cross of Christ and the entire Gospel message. We do this with various productions throughout the year. We are always looking for people who want to help with acting, costuming, writing, construction, and technical assistance for staging, lighting, and sound. This ministry includes the production of plays and skits, as well as praise dance and pantomime. 
 

One Accord Mime Ministry

 

Under the umbrella of the Drama Ministry, the purpose of the Mime Ministry, called Expressions of Praise, is to facilitate spiritual growth and outreach by sharing the gospel message through dramatic presentation set to music.  The Mime Ministry has been discovered to be an undeniably effective way to bring out the relevance of a song’s lyrics. Our objective is not to entertain, but to minister to the people the entire gospel message through modern dance and pantomime.  We are careful to select songs with clear audible lyrics, as well as movements that are reverential and designed to honor God.

 

Praise in Motion

Purpose:  Under the umbrella of the Drama Ministry, the purpose of the Praise Dance Ministry is to facilitate spiritual growth and outreach by sharing the gospel message through artistic presentation.  Praise Dance is an effective way to bring out the significant words of an inspiring song. Our objective is not to entertain, but to demonstrate our praise and worship of God in support of the gospel message.  We are careful to select songs with clear audible lyrics, as well as movements that are reverential and designed to honor God.

Ushers

 
The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life. The Usher Board, consisting of an organized group of dedicated men and women, serve as silent evangelists; a door keeper in the house of God.  They take seriously the reverential beauty of the Lord’s sacred house of worship and work to maintain its order. 
 

Objectives:  Ushers escort worshipers to their respective seats and assist in the maintenance of reverence during the worship experience. In addition, the usher minimizes walking and excessive disturbances that can hinder the orderly flow of the service.  They assist with uptake of offering, dissemination of the Lord’s Supper, and serve the needs of the congregation during the worship service.  They also support the vision of the Pastor through annual programs and activities.

 

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.  

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.
